Take the Tour
A self-guided tour through our museum illustrates the history of the healing springs and the founding of our city. Permanent and temporary exhibits depict the indigenous people who first discovered the springs, the hardships of pioneer life, the Victorian renaissance that transformed Eureka Springs into a world-renowned health resort, and the arts and counter-culture movement that shaped us into the “town where misfits fit."
Artist of the Month
Judy Hudson
For November 2023, the museum will be showcasing the fantastically colorful works of Judy Hudson as our gift shop Artist of the Month! Judy works in several different mediums, and imbues her work with intense explosions of color and textures. She will be on site for a special artist meet and greet on the afternoon of Friday, November 10 from 2pm to 4pm, where guests can learn more about her inspirations and techniques.

Art Exhibit Opening Reception: Small Works, Great Cause
The Eureka Springs Historical Museum is pleased to present an exhibit of small-sized artwork by local Eureka artists! More than ten artists will be contributing masterpieces to this show in our visitor center display. All pieces will be for sale, with a portion of proceeds benefitting ESHM. Includes works by Steve Beacham, Nancy Sycamore Brooks, Fran Carlin, Drew Gentle, Mary Gentle, Ruth Mitchell, Jim Nelson, Jana Robison, Rosie Rose, Mary Springer, and Doug Stowe.
“The Story of Eureka Springs and the Railroads"
We are excited to be collaborating with the Eureka Springs Carnegie Public Library in welcoming Mike Sypult, President of the Arkansas Boston Mountains Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. Mr. Sypult will be presenting his fascinating hour-long program “The Story of Eureka Springs and the Railroads" in the Library Boulevard Bookend at 209 Spring Street (formerly the First Presbyterian Church). Free admission.
Time Travel Event: The 1973 Longhair Invasion
LAST YEAR, we traveled back to 1898 for the infamous Eureka Springs Jailbreak and the ensuing “Jailbird Ball". THIS YEAR, we're breaking out the bell-bottoms, tie-dye, and longhair fashions as we pay tribute to the Eureka Springs of 1973 and the “Longhair Invasion" of back-to-the-land artists, musicians, and free-thinkers that turned our town into an original Ozark hippie haven. Voices from Eureka's Silent City – Cemetery Tours
Join us for this year's “Voices from Eureka's Silent City" lantern-guided cemetery tours in October! This popular annual museum fundraiser is a unique evening experience, where actors portray the colorful characters from our city's past while guiding you through the historic city cemetery and sharing the stories of their lives and times. The guided tours last about an hour and start at approximately every 20 minutes from 5:30pm to 8:30pm with a free trolley ride to the cemetery.
