The Eureka Springs Historical Museum is pleased to present our newest temporary exhibit, showcasing the history of the Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point! From its humble beginnings as a summer youth music camp, to its current incarnation as a world class one-of-a-kind experience in the Ozarks, this new exhibit will feature images, information, and artifacts from this fascinating institution that is now celebrating its 75th year! Opening on June 3, 2024, with a brief reception at 3:30pm.
A self-guided tour through our museum illustrates the history of the healing springs and the founding of our city. Permanent and temporary exhibits depict the indigenous people who first discovered the springs, the hardships of pioneer life, the Victorian renaissance that transformed Eureka Springs into a world-renowned health resort, and the arts and counter-culture movement that shaped us into the “town where misfits fit."
For November 2023, the museum will be showcasing the fantastically colorful works of Judy Hudson as our gift shop Artist of the Month! Judy works in several different mediums, and imbues her work with intense explosions of color and textures. She will be on site for a special artist meet and greet on the afternoon of Friday, November 10 from 2pm to 4pm, where guests can learn more about her inspirations and techniques.
Join us for this year's “Voices" lantern-guided cemetery tours in October! This annual museum fundraiser is a unique evening experience, where actors portray the colorful characters from our city's past while guiding you through the historic city cemetery. The one hour tours begin at 5:30 pm, and leave every 20 minutes from the Cup of Love Ministry parking lot. The last tour leaves at 8:30 pm.
